Peggy R. Cole is a retired journalist, photographer, and unapologetic hippie chick cowgirl who has spent a lifetime chasing adventure, capturing it on film, and occasionally getting bucked off a horse for the fun of it.
She has photographed fire-breathing Arabian horses, bred dogs and horses, built and remodeled homes, and wandered rivers, mountains, and coastlines with equal enthusiasm. A student of metaphysics, a lover of books, and a seeker of beauty everywhere, Peggy now lives in the Texas Hill Country with cats, dogs, trees, and water — writing, photographing, and occasionally daring the universe to surprise her.
The Real Life Adventures of a Hippie Chick Cowgirl is her debut memoir — a book she's been living for decades and writing for years. It is, she'll tell you, the truest thing she's ever made.
If you've landed here, I suspect you might be a little like me — someone who doesn't quite fit in one box, who finds magic in the ordinary, and who laughs at the universe even when (especially when) it has other plans. Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
