I am Peggy R. Cole, a retired journalist, photographer, and unapologetic hippie chick cowgirl who has spent a lifetime chasing adventure, capturing it on film, and revisiting each adventure from a place a little further along in the journey.
I have photographed fire-breathing Arabian horses, bred dogs and horses, built and remodeled homes, and wandered rivers, mountains, and coastlines with equal enthusiasm. A student of metaphysics, a lover of books, and a seeker of beauty everywhere, I made my home in the Texas Hill Country with cats, dogs, trees, and water — writing, photographing, and occasionally daring the universe to surprise us.
The Real Life Adventures of a Hippie Chick Cowgirl is my debut memoir — a book I've been living for decades and writing for years. It has been a blast to write and pretty darn fun to read.
If you've landed here, I suspect you might be a little like me — someone who doesn't quite fit in one box, who finds magic in the ordinary, and who laughs at the universe even when (especially when) it has other plans. Welcome. I'm glad you're here.
